jasper65 6
I have only ever used Hunters in the past but for some reason they only ever last me a couple of years at most, the rubber normally ends up Parched and cracked and then starts to leak! I thought about getting some of them Le Chameu boots but I would prefer some UK one's. Is there something I'm doing wrong and should treat them with something or is this about the lifespan of these wellies? could anyone also advice me on any other UK quality wellies on the market.... But thats only my humble opinnion Your opinion means alot mate! there is a few lads I know who brought Le Crap but they look silly and tight on the Calf, I'm a bit more Patriotic and can't beleive that the British Isles can't produce a decent welly , I'll give the Argile's a look, mind you them Tay boots that showman and sako.243 was talking about look the Bollox if I talk to the missus nicley for my birthday ., thanks all for the replies too . Guest Lurcherbitch
Well i have to say, i am an avid wellie weara . Having seen Millet at the waterloo in his Aigle and how warm (and stunning) he was promted me to get a pair after my hunters wore out. Got to say the one of the best buys ever, the grip on them is brill comfort, like wearing slippers and you'll always think of Millet when you wear them  .xx

Jasper, i believe that Aigle is also French, but perhaps with a slightly more British twist
mad al 146
Anyone tried "Muckboots"? I use them, can be a bit tight on the calf but they are very warm, grip is fine and for forty quid, I'm not complaining.............Al
THE POACHER 13
i had hunters and they lasted me a good month i wouldnt use them to clean the dogs out cant beat muck boot wellies
jasper65 6
Jasper, i believe that Aigle is also French, but perhaps with a slightly more British twist I'm totaly brain dead mate expecially in the evenings after a drink! I was hopeing to keep the stiff upper lip and stick to some quality built in the British Isles, but do we build any quality these days? I'm always a bit dubiouse about french stuff! I still don't think that many of them like us, Admiral Nelson hit the nail on the head when he said "Never trust a frenchman".... Mind you if their wellies are good for a decent price I'll have to have a pair
Guest WILF
JMHO but hunters are shite! No one has really explained what they dont like about Le Chamue , but I must say I have the ones with neo and full length zip and find them excellent. I have not had cause to find out what the back up service is like, but have heard that it is also excellent. If your saying about good old british products, IMHO British & back up service just dont go together in the same sentance. Example: I had a pair of Musto boots, they fell apart after a month, now the factory is just around the corner to me, I rung them and guess what.....They didnt want to know, told me I had to take them back to the dealer depite me explaining that this was a long way away. Good old Britain mate. As I said only ever heard good stuff about Le Cham service.....you get what you pay for.
Guest Macnas
I've worn hunters for the past few years, they're fine but the threads on the sole are a crap design, you could go arse over tip on wet concrete or anything remotely slippy. Those Aigle look good, french or not.
jasper65 6
what a sad state of affairs when you can't get anything British thats decent anymore! I'm surprised when you rang the after sales service you didn't get through to someone in India or Pakistan like most of these companies use as call centres. I know what you're saying about Le Cham but in the past I have had some dealings with potential French customers after birds and to be Honest their attitude stunk! I'm not Tar'ing them all with the same brush by any account but I'm hopeing to go GB if I can, you would surely think this country that was once known as a agricultrual and Field sport Capital could produce a decent wellie manufacturer.... Guest Macnas
Dunlop used to make them here in Ireland, possibly still do in the UK? Rubbush wellie though!
